Shushtar New Town: the Idea of a Community Interview with Kamran Diba
Abstract
Questo testo deriva da un’intervista a Kamran Diba registrata nella sua residenza, nei pressi di Malaga, il 17 e 18 Febbraio 2016. La realizzazione dell’intervista è dovuta a Ludovico Micara con la collaborazione di Veronica Salomone. Il tema dell’intervista è il progetto di Shushtar New Town, una nuova struttura urbana progettata e costruita da Kamran Diba nei pressi di Shushtar, città storica nella provincia del Khuzestan nel sud-est dell’Iran.
La vicenda di Shushtar New Town progettata e realizzata tra il 1974 e il 1980, alla vigilia della rivoluzione islamica, è una chiave importante per capire le politiche urbane nell’Iran in questo cruciale passaggio storico e per valutare, in questo quadro, il contributo innovativo dato dal suo autore ai temi del progetto e della formazione di nuove città e di nuove comunità urbane nei paesi emergenti.
